The Royal Odonto Chirurgical Society of Scotland looks back with pride over the one hundred and thirty years since its inception in 1867. Since then it has strived to fulfil the aims and aspirations of the founding fathers, to unite the dental profession, to promote dental education and to maintain ethical standards. With the aid of the minute books, Dr Geissler has been able to provide a history of this great society along with an insight into how things were done in the beginning and biographies on various presidents. There are extracts from these minute books as well as some papers which have been handed to the society. This publication gives an all-round view of the oldest dental society in the United Kingdom, if not the world. Published: 1997, privately.
